I'm still photographing raves every couple weekends, and will potentially be photograping WEMF August 12th-14th up in Madawaska, Canada. It was amazing when we went in 2008, and now that I know more about my camera and party photos in general, I really hope I'll be able to photograph it again.

I saw one of my favorite bands last month, and snuck in my camera to take some photos. It was an amazing concert, and I highly recommend Against Me! in concert.

The photo on the left is from the Against Me! concert, while the one on the right is just a random photo from a walk I took with some friends. The sun was setting, so they started playing with their poi, and of course I couldn't resist taking some photos. They came out decent, but I really need to start bringing my tripod in my car when I go see people.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.photohouse.me/home/2011/3/7/006-electrify.html"><rss:title>006 // electrify</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.photohouse.me/home/2011/3/7/006-electrify.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

I want to experiment way more with light painting. I'm not entirely sure why, but I love photographing light. Its one reason I have so much fun photographing raves: all the crazy and varied lights. My final project for Intermediate Photo last time was about light, specifically street lights on campus and how UConn looks like a different world at night.

I shot this same set up with 35mm black & white and it printed pretty well. I need to try it with some high ISO film and print it large, so my next order will probably involve the Ilford ISO 3200 and some 11x14 paper.

In other news, I'll be trying to devote some time to this site this coming week. I'm on Spring Break from school and this needs to be functional before April.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.photohouse.me/home/2011/1/12/005-beginnings.html"><rss:title>005 // beginnings</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.photohouse.me/home/2011/1/12/005-beginnings.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

Everything has been so hectic, I've been neglecting both this and my Flickr site.
I love photographing people when they don't realize I'm there. When they aren't faking anything. When they're real.

'Technolust' was freaking amazing. I expected it to be good, but god DAMN was it good. The DJ's were fabulous, and I finally saw some people I've been friends with for awhile :)

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.photohouse.me/home/2010/6/13/003-still.html"><rss:title>003 // still</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.photohouse.me/home/2010/6/13/003-still.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

These are the kinds of things I notice at parties.

Or the slightly out of place things, that a non-raver would be confused by.

I just add an 'Affiliates' tab, for easy links to the webpages of the crews I shoot regularly for, and the friends of mine who have sites on etsy.

Last night was Tight Crew's Mario Party 2, Super Mario Massive in Elmsford, NY and I'm still really tired from it. Roughly two thousand ravers, many of whom followed the theme and showed up dressed as various video game characters or wearing Mario-themed shirts and hats. It was quite the turn out, and there were some solid sets. I loved the decorations they did. They may as well have been chucking coins at us or something, it was great.

The next definite event I'm going to is the June edition of Hard Hits, on June 18th. It also happens to be my birthday party, since I turn 22 two days after the event. My boyfriend, DJ Blu, and my good friend DJ Tre are on decks as our resident Hard Hitters, with DJ Auratika of Dreamhard and Soappy of Tight Crew joining them. Our special guest is DJ Ixnay of Arizona of Krafty Radio to give us a taste of his sweet scratching.

I'm probably going to Mr. Bubble Returns on June 12th, although I haven't thoroughly discussed it with my boyfriend yet so I am not positive if we are still attending.

June will actually be very busy. We are attending raves three weekends in a row, and attending a barbecue at a friend's house the first weekend. I also just got my job back at the local Panera, so in theory I'll spend June working all week and then shooting parties each weekend, and maybe buying a new computer at the end of the summer. I've had my MacBook for close to four years now, and I definitely need to replace it as soon as I can. 80GB, when I shoot several gigs of photos every weekend, is fairly restrictive, not to mention I have the one with the white plastic casing and mine has a lot of evidence of wear & tear.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.photohouse.me/home/2010/5/24/001-foundations.html"><rss:title>001 // Foundations</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.photohouse.me/home/2010/5/24/001-foundations.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

If you're reading this, then that means I finally have photohouse.me up and running!

Phil and I decided to use squarespace.com for hosting, since he doesn't have time to design the site and I am just flat out not a web designer. I'll be modifying the site as I go, and change it as my needs for it change. I'll be using this 'journal' bit to update people on events I'll be photographing, or projects I am doing in school or whatever I feel people would benefit from knowing.

</rss:item></rdf:RDF>
